This is a reference to the Wii U's codename, Project Café.
On some of the loading screens, Monita is seen without her hat drinking coffee. #How to modify nintendo wii pal to ntsc full#
You can also compare them by thinking Monita doesnt have a full arm just like when you open the first "?" box. they both have a ribbon and a square panel, but Monita has brighter colors like blue and red and white, and the signs are just wooden.
Monita closely looks like an information sign in front of the attraction. She is voiced by Emily Bauer in the English version. In versions of the game released where English is not the main language, she speaks with that region's main language. You may need to force a language that is actually present in the game and/or enable Country String patching.
If you get black&white playback, the game is WORKING, but you have a video mode problem, and then ask about that.
In the NTSC version of Nintendo Land, she speaks with an American accent, while in the game's PAL version (Including the Australia version), she speaks with a British accent. Also forcing the game to use NTSC video mode while its actually a PAL game, reduces the compatiblity. She is also a Spirit in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Monita appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. An arm pops out of the bottom of her monitor, with balls that allow it to move like a joint. She has a big monitor with a simple face (it's mouth moves very little when speaking - this is the only movement her face makes). She is sometimes seen in a typical looking "Evil Spaceship", dropping down enemies (Both from the Pikmin and Metroid universes, depending on the attraction game you are playing). Dark Monita is the "Evil Overlord", and is essentially alike to Monita (but is a separate character, as both Monita and Dark Monita have been seen on screen at once), but the only difference in appearance from Monita is her Purple Jester Hat. In Pikmin Adventure and Metroid Blast, the player is introduced to Dark Monita. She joins in some of the games such as Luigi's Ghost Mansion where she helps out the Ghost Hunters if there are less than 4 of them, or in Takamaru's Ninja Castle where she gets kidnapped after telling you the rules of the game, and she later talks to the player telepathically on the second stage. #How to modify nintendo wii pal to ntsc how to#
She also tells you how to play the attractions in the park. Her purpose is to help players out when starting the game and helping them get started. In order for them to even boot, the core settings (R4300 Emulator) must be set to Pure Interpreter.Monita is the female host and guide for the Wii U Game Nintendo Land.
Mupen64plus does not like files patched by PALadin. It doesn't recognize the ROM files as the same after modifications that need new checksums, so the settings have to be set manually for such ROM files to make the games work. Project64 uses special per game settings to make some games work, e.g. Expanding the ROM is not neccessary, unless you try to convert Michael Owen WLS 2000 and its regional counterparts, as these games have important data up until the very end of the ROM for some reason. PALadin changes the line at offset $1000 and writes itself to the end of the ROM.
PALadin lists the bootcodes with wrong numbers. #How to modify nintendo wii pal to ntsc code#
Then change the region code to 45 at offset $3E and recalculate the checksum with rn64crc or ucon64, since PALadin can only do CRC-Calculation for the 6102 (=7101) bootcode.
Be aware that PALadin can't handle file names with spaces in them.

For reproducing the patch files, take a vanilla ROM ( do not change the header to NTSC yet) and patch it with PALadin v3.1: paladin /f romname.z64. Games with bootcodes 6102 (=7101) and 6105 (=7105) do work fine after being modified by PALadin (country fix). I noticed that all of these games either use the 6103 (=7103) or the 6106 (=7106) bootcode. Major League Baseball featuring Ken Griffey Jr. The following games do not work after patching with PALadin: I make these patches available to the public soon, including a release on RHDN.Įdit: Working patches published. But at least they work, which was my goal in the first place. As you would expect, most of them run too fast in one or multiple ways. I managed to get most of the PAL N64 games to run in NTSC, either by only changing the region code (when no region lock exists), by additionally removing the region protection or using PALadin to work around the protection.
